The Hunyadi family's estate in Balatonszemes was bult in the last quarter of 18th century for barn purposes. It gives place for the Postal Museum exhibition since 1962.

The Postal Museum Foundation renovated the building, the carriages and the motor vehicles between 2003 and 2004.

In front of the museum a monument can be found what is for the honor of the postal workers who died during their duty. This is the only monument for them in Europe.
