
Kereki
Kereki located 7 km far south from the lake Balaton in the Kőröshegy-Pusztaszemes valley. Origin of its name is the adjective derivative of the noun kerek (round).
The word kerek means a forest of circular shape. Other say this settlement is called after its round church that was destroyed long time ago. The settlement is accessible by public transport (bus), by car or by bike. The ruins is only accessible by walk or by bike from the center of the village. The red (L) sign shows the way to the ruins. The other attraction of the village is the belfry what was built at the end of the 18th century.The belfry can be seen still at the side of the main road.
